Atenas is a small paradise located on the limits of the metropolitan area. This small town of approximately 26,000 inhabitants is considered one of the favorite destinations in Costa Rica to retire, evidence of this is that about 8.5% of its inhabitants were born abroad. In this picturesque place, majestic views prevail due to its altitude (around 800 meters above sea level) and allowing it to enjoy an average temperature of 26 degrees Celsius year-round. Here there are no marked seasons, we only have a dry season and a rainy season, but it is usual to have chilly days during the dry season, and beautiful sunny days during the rainy season.
You can still find farmers who subsist thanks to agricultural production, where the main crops are citrus and coffee; Here, you can enjoy exciting tours, such as getting to know one of the first organic coffee plantations in Costa Rica.

In the garden, you can also find fruit trees such as Tangerine, Lemon, Mango, and it also has a perfect space for you to grow your vegetables and herbs to prepare tasty and healthy meals. In one of the trees, a swing allows you to enjoy an incredible view of Alajuela and Grecia.In front of the house, there’s the recently remodeled pool. It is ideal for exercising in the morning or simply relaxing with a drink in the evening. Due to the solar incidence in the area, and the extension of the roof cover, it is straightforward to add a solar panel system to keep the pool warm at night.
The house has 2,300 square feet very well distributed to enjoy the common areas, is divided into two modules, social space, and bedrooms. The common area has an open concept kitchen that communicates freely with the living room, so it could be preparing a wonderful meal without missing a single detail of your guests’ stories. In this area, the double-height ceilings allow the fans to maintain excellent airflow, maintaining an ideal temperature without air conditioning. The fully equipped kitchen has a refrigerator, a ceramic hob, and small appliances such as Coffee Maker and waffle makers, and all the kitchen utensils you need to prepare your food. Also, there is an island for preparing food, which has considerable storage space. An overhead cabinet and lower storage in the sink area increase the storage area. Also, there is a four-space dining table between the living room and the kitchen.
You can find three very comfortable sofas in the living room, one of which can be converted into a bed to receive guests. In this room, there's a 50 ”LCD screen to enjoy your favorite shows since there’s access to cable and internet up to 100 megabytes. The living room has large windows to keep the space well lit and ventilated. Also, the windows are sliding and have screens that prevent the entry of insects into the house. This area also has a large storage cabinets area. The main room has a king-size bed, walking closet, a full bathroom, and air conditioning. The guest room has a full bed, a wardrobe, and a full bath. Both bedrooms are very well lit and have a ceiling fan.
The laundry room is detached and fully equipped with a washer and dryer for your convenience.
The whole house has hot water, and there is an outdoor water storage tank so that the service is never interrupted. For your safety, the house has a perimeter surveillance camera system, and an alarm system, both of which can be accessed from your cell phone to monitor the home when you are away.
